Two Sides is an exploration of the typeface Didot created by Firmin Didot in the 19th century. Rooted in history, this neoclassical sans-serif typeface is commonly associated with fashion, magazines, and elegance. In this booklet I explore the other side of industry, one that we may not see but ultimately know is there, underlying. Through presentation of the ‘darker side’ of celebrities and icons, often depicted in gossip and fashion magazines that utilize the Didot Typeface, I expose the impact icons make on society and in turn society makes on them. The stylization of the book follows characteristics of a magazine in terms of imagery, layout and use of halftone dots.
